A Brief Note...

I am doing the equivalent of what you see writers in old black and white movies do, as they rip the piece of paper from the typewriter and throw it in the waste basket! Rather than fashion something for the sake of it now, I will save my thoughts for a more expansive review from the comfort of home next week. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the comforts of New York City.

Suffice to say that after a run of shows through New England which, for the most part, have been excellent, we are down to just two more. We play Jones Beach, Long Island tomorrow - keeping the faith for good weather - and then Saturday night at Irving Plaza in Manhattan, a downtown New York club. Also on Friday night there is the Late Show with David Letterman broadcast.

It's turning into a beautiful day so, "excuse me, while I kiss the sky".

Shane.

You've worked hard on a job well done! You deserve a day off with some sun to enjoy. Thanks for keeping us all posted on this short but very interesting tour. Don't feel pressured to be perfectly clever every day. We all just enjoy you allowing us a small peek into the limelight. Bask in the beauty of NY and have a great day!

Hey Shane,
I saw the Letterman show on Saturday night - pretty amazing, really, as I'm on the other side of the planet - and, well, you rock, mate!! I've been following your journey these past few weeks, and it was great to finally be able to put it all in context - just as the tour was ending. Great timing, really. Please keep blogging, and let us know what you're up to. Love, Anne (Oz) xx

Shane (correct spelling)
As said earlier, you're a pompous wannabe over the hill "rock star". Get a job, and get over yourself. Remember, you're only there for background music, kind of like what I was hearing in the elevator today. Irrelevant.

Wow "annonymous" for someone who thinks Shane is so irrelevant you sure spend a lot of time on his website. How creepy is that?

Shane, I hope you'll be on the house left playing with Marc Cohn! I just got my tickets for Chicago and I am so jazzed.

Anonymous aren't you bitter. Are you still living at home with mom, playing air guitar in your room? Still mad that you weren't good enough to play in 8th grade band?

Shane - What a great tour this was. Seeing you in San Jose was mind blowing to say the least. Thanks for giving us wannabe groupies a ride through your words! Hope to see you in California! Have a safe trip home!

Shane,

You are so incredibly talented. I saw you recently in Chicago and in New York City. You have an energy like I have never seen playing your guitar, harmonica and singing. I was so happy to meet you outside the the Letterman show when I asked you to sign a page of your journal. You were also kind enough to take a picture. You were just so appreciative and I know you were being rushed but you still stopped and was so polite. As a fan that means so much. I'll remind you again that your journal is incredible. I have some great pics of you from Chicago I'd love for you to see. Any suggestions how I can get copies to you. I was in the front row right in front of you. I recently saw Chris Botti
in concert on Long Island. When we chatted before the concert he reminded me that you had played with him. I sure hope that coming back to New York City or Long Island is something you will seriously consider. Wasn't the weather at Jones Beach unbelievable? Thank God it didn't rain because in spite of the wind it was a fabulous show.

Thanks so much Shane, NYCgal
